Follow up by customer state
| Audience | Useful next action |
|---|---|
| Unconverted retail lead | Reduce uncertainty and return the customer to the primary buying route. |
| Customer | Offer relevant discovery, service or replenishment based on a verified purchase. |
| Wholesale prospect | Progress qualification, sample or pilot discussion and decision ownership over a longer cycle. |
| Return-gift lead | Follow event date, quantity, budget, customization and quotation stage. |
| Abandoned cart | Return the shopper to the saved cart and address the most likely blocker without inventing a discount. |
Use a controlled cadence
A useful sequence has a clear reason for each touch, stops after conversion or opt-out, and respects WhatsApp template requirements. Long-cycle B2B leads can have more touches than a simple retail enquiry, but every touch must remain relevant.
Make autonomy safe
- Enroll only when the trigger data is reliable.
- Stop on purchase, lost deal, opt-out or human takeover.
- Use stage-specific messages instead of repeating one generic reminder.
- Do not promise discounts, free items or delivery outcomes that are not configured.
- Measure replies, qualified progression, recovered carts and conversion—not only messages sent.
